Contacts in Use

Contacts can be used to personalise and send quotes and invoices.
The “Salutation Line” Variable
By default, when you create a new quote or invoice, the company details are inserted automatically: the billing address and the email address used for sending. Both can also be overridden at project level. The introductory and closing text is inserted as defined globally or for the client.
You can use the “Salutation Line” variable in the Introductory Text. If no contact is selected, the default “Dear Sir or Madam” is used (instead of in image 3).

If a contact is assigned (2), this controls the salutation line accordingly. You can define it individually for each contact in the “Salutation Line” field (1 + 3). If no custom salutation is defined, MOCO uses the defaults: Ms → “Dear Ms Surname”, Mr → “Dear Mr Surname”, Neutral → “Hello First name Surname”.
You can override these defaults in Settings

Recipient Address and Email Are Adjusted Based on the Selected Contact
If no different address is stored for the contact, MOCO simply adds the name to the client address (by default, this is inserted on the second line of the address – you can adjust this for the client if needed). The email address stored for the contact is set automatically when sending emails.
Email Dispatch
When sending emails, the email address stored for the client, project, or invoice (in this order of priority) is automatically pre-filled. On the client and project level, CC addresses can also be predefined, and a general BCC address can be set at the account level.
Additional email recipients can be added directly using find-as-you-type (start typing, and MOCO will suggest existing contacts).

Contacts > Birthdays
This section displays all recorded birthdays for contacts and staff for the next 3 months.

Birthdays will only be shown if they are recorded for individuals (staff or contacts). The date can be deleted later if necessary (GDPR). If you still want to keep the information solely for the "personnel file," the birth date can also be recorded in the general "Additional info" field.
You can also display a tile for upcoming birthdays on the customisable reports dashboard.
If the personal weekly info (email) is activated for sending, you will automatically be informed of upcoming birthdays on Monday as the person responsible for the contact.

Access on the Go
Business contacts (contacts, companies, employees) from MOCO can also be accessed via smartphone. They are synchronised through CardDAV, ensuring they are always up-to-date for every employee. Synchronisation is always one-way: From MOCO outward. MOCO serves as the management hub. If a contact needs to be updated, it must be changed in MOCO for proper synchronisation.
Here's how
1. Activate CardDAV in the settings.
2. Add your MOCO account to the address book.
3. Use the CardDAV password from your personal profile as the password.
