n8n – compared with Zapier and Make
n8n is an open-source automation platform that enables users to build workflows and connect different services. Compared with Make and Zapier, which also specialise in automation, n8n offers the advantage of a self-hosting option and allows deeper customisation by integrating code in JavaScript or Python. While Zapier and Make focus on a user-friendly no-code interface, n8n is more geared towards developers who want to build more complex, scalable workflows. All three platforms offer a wide range of integrations; however, n8n allows greater flexibility when customising and extending workflows. As n8n charges per workflow rather than per individual step, it is often cheaper than Make or Zapier.

Use automation to manage projects efficiently in both tools. Every change in MOCO is automatically applied in Clockify:
- Projects: create, edit, archive
- Team members: assign and remove
- Services: manage and synchronise
This saves time and prevents errors because data no longer needs to be entered twice. At the end of each workflow, a Slack message is sent to inform authorised users that the synchronisation was successful.
Transfer Time Tracking from Clockify to MOCO and Jira
At skriptfabrik, project synchronisation is the foundation for employees’ time tracking. When a user creates, changes, or deletes a time entry in Clockify, it is also posted, updated, or removed in MOCO and Jira. The integration ensures that each employee only sees the projects in Clockify that are also assigned to them in MOCO.
Employees benefit from being able to use Clockify’s convenient time tracking. The company still has all time entries in MOCO as well, as they are needed there for Billing clients. Project management can also see the time entries directly on tasks in Jira and use them, for example, for reporting.
Contact Synchronisation from Google Contacts to MOCO Leads
Each employee maintains their own contacts in Google. The contacts they want to share with colleagues are given a label, marking them for synchronisation. The aim is to synchronise contacts between employees and also create them in MOCO as leads.
Synchronise MOCO and HubSpot
As soon as a client, contact, or lead/deal is created or edited in MOCO or HubSpot, it is synchronised to the other system. Before the permanent synchronisation starts, an initial reconciliation of clients and contacts takes place to avoid duplicates across the systems and to start with a clean data set.
